Divorce & Relationship Breakdown.
Reid & Co Solicitors Lisburn will advise and assist you on all aspects of relationship breakdown including financial settlements and provide advice on establishing the correct legal grounds for divorce.
It's an unfortunate fact of modern life that not all marriages and partnerships are successful. Relationship breakdown can occur for a variety reasons and each case will have its own range of issues. We will therefore spend time with you to understand the issues and advise you on the best course of action for your circumstances. We are used to helping both husbands and wives in divorce, separation and nullity.
When applying for a divorce there are a number of reasons that can be used as evidence that the marriage has 'broken down irretrievably', these are:
- an allegation of adultery
- unreasonable behaviour
- two years separation by consent
- two years desertion
- five years separation
Civil Partnerships
- Civil partnerships give same sex couples the same legal rights and obligations as married couples.
- In the event of a breakdown in the relationship, formal legal proceedings are necessary in the same way as divorce proceedings are needed to end a marriage, and indeed the process is very similar to divorce in that one of the parties files a petition with the court, requesting civil partnership dissolution.
Our Ms Fionnuala Maguire specialises in divorce and separation and will assist you through the legal process in a professional, confidential and sensitive manner For further information please ring 02892663310 or email info@reidandcosolicitors.com
